Exhibition news, photos for sale, and bookshop, from the Bill Brandt Archive. Bill Brandt was a British photographer and photojournalist. Although born in Germany, Brandt moved to England, where he became known for his images of British society for such magazine as Lilliput and Picture Post, later he distorted nudes, portraits... en.wikipedia.org EXCERPT: "Whilst working at the Bill Brandt Archive, I had extensive time to familiarize myself with the design and workflow of the FilmToaster. Through my personal experience, I believe the equipment to be simple, effective, and rather cost friendly compared to other options on the market. I would greatly recommend the FilmToaster when managing a large amount of negatives. The Film Toaster worked tirelessly and successfully archived over 5,000 negatives over a three month period." —John-Paul Kernot

Photo.Net Review

One positive comment: The film toaster strikes me as a good idea, although they are milking the price, but at least it will always be workable, unlike a film scanner which will probably no longer be working in 10 years time. I wonder whether you can use a FF camera on the film toaster - this is a negative, if you can't. I agree with the others, digicopying with a DSLR is the best way to go for most "scanning" and the filmtoaster is nice in that it will allow duplicating a wide range of film formats easily."
